Information

ScreenSask is Saskatchewan's film and television industry association. Our goal is to create 1,000 new industry jobs, and make Saskatchewan a half a billion dollar a year production hub by 2035. We're doing that by bringing together producers, crew and stakeholders to focus on workforce development, advocacy, and industry coordination. ScreenSask works to ensure the screen sector contributes meaningfully to the province’s economy while telling Saskatchewan stories at home and on global platforms.

Industry advocacy is a core part of ScreenSask’s work. The organization represents the collective interests of the screen sector in discussions with municipal, provincial, and federal governments, as well as with funding agencies and sector partners. Our board of directors brings together producers, industry suppliers and representatives of ACTRA, IATSE and DGC, to ensure we are all working together to achieve our shared goals.

Our advocacy focuses on issues that affect the ability of local companies and workers to sustain careers in film and television, including production incentives, funding programs, workforce development, and broader cultural and economic policy. ScreenSask provides a consistent industry voice and helps ensure decision-makers understand the realities and opportunities of production in Saskatchewan.

ScreenSask also supports skills development and workforce growth. Through workshops, training initiatives, professional development programs, and industry forums, the organization helps members build practical skills, adapt to industry change, and connect with peers and mentors. These activities support both emerging and established professionals and respond to needs identified by producers, unions, guilds, and educators. In recent years, this work has increasingly focused on developing clearer training pathways and long-term talent pipelines to support industry expansion.
