Measuring progress: What the DGC census tells us

Building on the Directors Guild of Canada’s 2025 Census Report, this workshop explores what the latest data reveals about equity and representation in Canada’s screen-based industries. While the findings point to incremental progress, they also underscore ongoing gaps in income equity, gender diversity, disability, and racialized representation. Moving beyond the numbers, the session creates space for open dialogue about lived experience, systemic barriers, and practical pathways forward. Attendees will gain insight into how census data can inform accountability, access, and meaningful change across the industry.
